Frequently Asked Questions.
You have questions and we have answers. Review some of our most frequently asked questions and if you can’t find your answer there, send us a message.
When is Oktoberfest?
Oktoberfest is on September 24th, 2016, from 2-9pm. Gates open at 2pm.
Where will I find it?
Oktoberfest is at the historic Herron-Morton Place Park, located in downtown Indianapolis, 1927 N. Alabama Street.
How much are kid's tickets?
Kids are welcome at Oktoberfest. In fact, those 12 and under get in free!
What’s the plan if it rains?
Oktoberfest happens rain or shine. The forecast looks great right now, but then again we are talking about Indiana weather.
What about parking and transportation?
Street parking is free overnight. If you decide to ride your bike, bike parking will also be available through Pedal & Park.
How do I become a sponsor?
Oktoberfest is a great opportunity to connect with a large, diverse group of downtown residents. If you’re interested in becoming an Oktoberfest sponsor, contact Haley Glover.
Do you accept credit cards?
We accept credit cards and cash at the door. It’s a good idea to have cash for the individual vendors as not all are able to accept credit cards. There are some ATMs near the park, though there is not one onsite. Some nearby ATMS include Chase Bank (16th & Meridian) and PNC (17th & Meridian).
How do I become a volunteer?
If you’re interested in volunteering, contact Lindsay Newton. Volunteering’s a great way to listen to great music for free and meet your neighbors. We need help at the door, with setup/cleanup and working with the bands and vendors to make sure everything runs smoothly.
What about my dog?
We love dogs! They are welcome to come and have a beer with us at Oktoberfest (provided they have valid ID).
What is the Herron Morton Place Foundation?
The Herron-Morton Place Foundation, Inc. was founded as a 501C-3 tax deductible organization to protect, revitalize, promote and strengthen the area in and around Herron Morton Place.
The Foundation helped found and build the historic park that’s now the home of Oktoberfest. Our other current projects include the Foundry Project Redevelopment and other real estate development.
The organization is completely run by volunteers and 100% supported by donations. Everything we do in the neighborhood depends on your sponsorship and support.
